Capacity-building for a Migration Policy in Burundi

This project will be targeting the development of a national migration policy, through technical assistance, advice, training and the establishment of permanent structures. IOM was specifically asked by the Burundian Government to address the lack of a national migration policy as a preliminary step to address Burundi’s migration challenges and support the creation of a regulatory framework. This work is also intended to support Burundi in their regional engagement, through the EAC, on migration matters. The project was specifically raised by the Minister of Interior in a meeting with the Director General on the 1st of October.
