Pilot Project: Technical Assistance to Enhance Migration Management in Congo – additional budget

Further to a government request, this project will set up preliminary actions in the area of migration management so as to support the government’s reflection and actions in regards to building capacity for enhanced migration management. These actions will include an assessment of the political, legal, administrative and operational framework for migration management in Congo, with provision of short, medium and long term recommendations as well as training related thereto. An assessment of 2 key border posts as well as provision of updated procedures and equipment for border management will be provided with a view to automate exit and entry data collection and analysis.

Based on the outcomes of this project, a larger Capacity Building for Migration Management Programme will be developed for joint implementation between the Government of Congo and IOM.
