This project will support the Government of Mexico in the implementation of its “Comprehensive Strategy to Prevent and Fight Migrant Kidnapping”. The project includes a series of capacity building activities for public officials and civil society organizations to enhance the identification, assistance and management of migrant victims of kidnapping. In addition, the project will produce, print and disseminate a manual on standard operating procedures. This manual will be the basis for training sessions for relevant officials, including consular authorities and civil society members, working directly with victims.
In close cooperation with different government agencies in Mexico, both local and federal, the project will also provide assistance to migrant victims of kidnapping in Mexico. The project will provide basic needs and integration services aimed at facilitating the integration of migrant victims into their host communities. The Mexican Government will provide co-financing (USD 35,115) to fund this assistance.
The total 1035 project budget is USD 100 000.
