This project, at the request of the Ministry of Security and Public Order, will focus on the installation of technical equipment and training for the users in order to the build the institutional and technical capacity of the Government of Congo in relation to migration management. This approach will go in hand with specific actions to build the capacity of government officials. In order to ensure the activities’ sustainability, the project will primarily focus on the training of trainers.
This project will build on the expertise in the field of training, as well as the tools and infrastructures of the newly established African Capacity-Building Centre (ACBC) in Moshi, Tanzania. Delivered by the Centre’s migration management experts, these trainings will be based on the new IOM training manual on Essential Elements of Migration Management and on other internal training tools (including in the field of training of trainers).
The outcomes of these actions will serve as a basis for the development of a program of strengthening migration management capacity of the Government of Congo and as a model for neighboring African nations.
