Census of Nationals of the Niger Living Abroad and Promotion of their Skills for the Socio economic Development of Niger

This pilot project which falls under the framework of the MIDA programme is a preliminary step to foster links between Nigerien migrants and their country of origin.
During this pilot phase, three host countries will be targeted, including one in Europe (France), and two in Africa (Togo et Ghana). The project will undertake an evaluation in the target countries to collect information on the profile of the Nigerien diaspora in order to provide the Nigerien government a basis for the formulation of strategies to optimize the potential use of the Nigerien diaspora for the socio-economic development of Niger. A website and a database will be set up for the exchange and compilation of relevant information for migrants on existing norms, opportunities and referral services.
