This project will directly support the implementation of the State Migration Programme 2006-2008, provision 3.1. which envisions analysis of the current status of labour migration processes and preparation of relevant reports through the following intervention: through undertaking a survey with migrant workers living and residing legally on the territory of Azerbaijan, and in depth interviews with key stakeholders to identify the need for foreign labour/ measures to reduce irregular labour migration. The result of this project will be two reports outlying the findings of the two studies. The final component of this project will be a workshop that will be undertaken with key stakeholders to address the key elements regarding consolidation of the legal framework, regulation, protection of migrants and reduction of irregular flows. The activities of this project will be eligible to be considered as co-funding towards the EC project ‘Establishment of Integrated Border Management (IBM) Model at the Southern Border of Azerbaijan’.
