This projects aims to improve the capacity of the Ministry of Labour and Human Recourses Development to manage labour migration and contribute to the development of a coherent and holistic labour migration policy as well as to improve linkages with the Diaspora. Implementation of the project is expected to achieve the following outcomes:
- A Labour Migration Unit established in the Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development;
- A report on the Diaspora profiles and dynamics in the UK generated from the pilot survey and recommendations made for designing an internet based tool;
- A tool for gathering information and updating skills inventory in Kenya developed; and,
- Labour migration unit staff trained on management of information in both tools and on the roles and responsibilities of the unit.
- Associated recommendations provided and validated in a two-day workshop
