The main objective of this project is to strengthen the capacity of Benin’s Institutions to better contribute to the protection of the rights of migrant workers in Benin.
To reach this objective, the project implementation will have three components. The first component consists in conducting a study to identify gaps in the legislation or legislative provisions that need to be amended to strengthen the respect of the rights of migrant workers in the country. The second component aims to raise parliamentarians’ awareness about the content of the relevant international standards on the protection of migrant workers’ rights. Finally, the third component of this project will focus on capacity building of various stakeholders involved in the process of implementation of the rights of migrant workers through a general training on International Migration Law.
