This project has assisted the Royal Government of Cambodia and complement the WHO efforts in monitoring and controlling/limiting the spread of the SARS epidemic into the kingdom. The project has specifically strengthened monitoring and response along the points or entry, and build capacities to effectively respond to the challenges presented by the spread of SARS.
Specific project purposes have included:
1. to have better controlled Points of Entry (POEs).
2. to have better informed and trained quarantine officers.
3. to put in place a smooth-running, yet effective, process for passenger screening.
4. to establish a national database for international movement into the Kingdom.
