This project stems from a request from the Governments of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia to assist in strengthening capacities of Border police of both countries to implement the bilateral Agreement on Surveillance of the State Border and an associated Protocol on joint patrols.
Through a series of joint trainings for border police of both countries along the shared border, the project will enhance skills and knowledge of operational staff who will perform joint patrols implementation of the Protocol and thereby reduce risks of irregular migration and illegal activities.
Ultimately, the project will contribute to enhanced security of the Bosnian/Croatian border which will become the future external border of the EU.
