The aim of this project is to provide technical assistance and support to the competent authorities, in particular the Czech Analysis Unit, Ministry of Interior, working in field of migration and asylum. The project's main objective is to increase/strengthen the unit’s professional expertise in qualitative analysis and determination of appropriate actions to be taken at the organisational and technical level, as well as on legal aspects. This will be accomplished via the implementation of a study visit and a series of thematic training seminars/workshops focusing on rapid assessment techniques and analysis of migration trends.
The two main activities to be carried out by the project are: study visit to the United Kingdom and six thematic seminar/workshops delivered by country experts with advance or similar experiences compared to the Czech Republic aiming at capacity building at the institutional and professional level. Experts and practitioners from EU Member States and third countries (i.e., Canada and the USA) will be invited to the Czech Republic in order to present their models of best practices and lessons learned in relation to qualitative analysis of migration movements to persons responsible for migration management and asylum.
The results of the study visit and thematic seminar/workshops will be incorporated into the final report, which will be disseminated among the government officials and interested parties. In addition, government officials will also have the opportunity to incorporate the results of the actions within their working practices and future initiatives, thus aiming at an overall improvement of the administrative system of migration management and asylum.
