With a view to further improving migration management in the Southern African region, this project aims to build the capacity of the Namibian Directorate of Immigration and Population Services to facilitate regular migration and address irregular migration. Competency based training curricula for migration officials will be developed. Identified experts will be trained as trainers and up to 120 immigration officials will be trained in selected training courses, including fraudulent document examination. The project will also provide the Directorate with a manual with clear policy guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which will be incorporated into the training programme for immigration officials.
