In the context of increasing migration flows in Jordan, the Jordanian Ministry of Interior has requested IOM’s support to assist the Directorate of Nationality, Foreign and Arab Affairs (DNFAA) through capacity building in managing migration and assistance to migrants.
A training needs assessment will be led by IOM, in cooperation with senior staff from divisions in the Directorate and with the assistance of international and/or local training experts. The purpose will be to identify needs and priorities of the divisions, with a view to including the training structure/needs of each division in the assessment. The needs assessment will also evaluate the equipment necessary to initiate and support the capacity building training courses.
Further project activities will include the establishment of an e-government system by updating the Ministry of Interior’s webpage where information for migrants is available, the translation of two relevant laws and the review of current standard operations procedures.
