This project aims to support the Border Authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in combating irregular migration through technical assistance and capacity building activities.
The project will contribute to improve the Kaplanbek border checkpoint in southern Kazakhstan and provide training for the border personnel of Kazkahstan and Kyrgyzstan. In the course of the project, passport control infrastructure at the Kaplanbek checkpoint will be refurbished together with the training facility for Kyrgyz Border Authorities in Bishkek. During cross border training, border controllers will be trained on latest techniques of border inspection. Border officials will also be provided with training equipment and material. Through its activities the project will allow for the exchange of information between border officials of both countries.
