The aim of the proposed project is to encourage the production of short films and showcase the work of local filmmakers to increase awareness of migration related issues in eligible Member States with key stakeholders and host communities. The project will strengthen the capacity of governments to pass key message to host communities as well as migrants and refugees via the short films that challenge prevailing anti-migrant narratives. The films will reveal through their portrayal of humanity, the tangible benefits of well-managed migration and the dangers of poorly managed migration, (human trafficking, migrant labour exploitation, irregular migration, fake news about migration etc.) in feeding xenophobia.

Specifically, the project will:

1. Build the capacity of communities to create short films, share and promote positive stories about migration;

2. Develop a participatory video activity in close coordination with selected missions;

3. Encourage the production and screening of films about migration amongst emerging filmmakers.
