Counter Trafficking Projects

This project has a budget of USD 200,000 with an allocation in 2007 from the 1035 Facility of USD 150,000 and an understanding that the remainder of the budget required would be considered for funding in 2008. This allocation would therefore cover the budget required for this project which aims to support and develop the capacity and cooperation of governments, NGOs and law enforcement/judicial officials in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Mali, and Senegal to prevent internal and cross border trafficking in persons, and offer better protection to victims of trafficking. In addition, the project aims to harmonize mechanisms for the protection of victims of trafficking, as well as the judicial proceedings against traffickers.
