Development of Common Practice Guidelines for EU and Candidate Countries

This project complements the programme approved by the European Commission under ARGO 2003 and provides the required co-funding. Best practices in managing return migration will be identified and detailed through the work of two expert working groups, respectively focussing on voluntary and forced returns. These identified best practices will be translated into a clear, step-by-step implementation guide in a manual, and will be disseminated to government authorities in all participating states. The Government of Austria formally guides the implementation of this initiative, with MRF Vienna and MRF Budapest providing joint management over the 12-month implementation.
