One of the key sectors that can greatly benefit from the Rwandan diaspora is the health sector, particularly in enhancing the capacities of Rwanda’s Human Resources for Health (HRH) through placement of Rwandan diaspora health professionals in selected institutions for short or medium term assignments to provide training and medical care. Upon the request to IOM from the Government of Rwanda (GoR), this project proposes to: (1) conduct outreach to the Rwandan diaspora and develop an interactive database; (2) establish an inter-ministerial & stakeholder committee; (3) provide assistance in the placement of Rwandan diaspora health professionals; and (4) development of a strategy and joint resource mobilization.
