This project will provide co-funding support to the EC funded ongoing regional project ‘Central Asian Labour Migration Project’ (CALM) and covers activities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan focusing on strengthening the legal framework and capacity building (including technical assistance) of government agencies and private recruitment agencies dealing with labour migration.
CALM is a two-year project with a comprehensive approach towards labour migration in Central Asia and Russia and comprises activities aimed at improving labour migration data and statistics, promotion and development of national labour migration strategies, improvement of national legislation and regional legal frameworks on labour migration, contributing to institutional capacity building in order to manage labour migration as well as informing and assisting labour migrants.
