Despite legal provisions that mandate the Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE) to provide reintegration services to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), there is little evidence available of migrants having been effectively reintegrated in the Philippines.
Therefore, this project aims to contribute to the efforts of the Government of the Philippines to reinforce the socio-economic reintegration programme in line with the Migration and Development, and Crisis Management Frameworks.
Project outputs that will contribute towards this objective include:
• Adoption of a national masterplan for migrant reintegration through the national reintegration summit declaration;
• Adoption of relevant department order, administrative circular or implementing guidelines on reintegration;
• Customized, equitable, accessible and gender-sensitive reintegration services for the migrants and their families;
• International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification of service systems;
• Capacity-building of reintegration counsellors and duty bearers on service delivery.
