This project aims to contribute technical support to the Government of South Sudan to develop a national diaspora mobilization strategy for the health sector. In close partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Directorate of Consular Services and other stakeholders, training and human resources for health (HRH) gaps will be identified within the South Sudan health sector training institutions. Furthermore, South Sudanese health professionals living in the diaspora will be identified and encouraged to register their professional qualifications in a web-based database to support the development of the health sector in South Sudan.
It is envisioned that this project will be the first phase of a multi-phase programme and that successful completion of Phase 1, will lay the foundation for longer term interventions.
