This project aims to support the Government of Tanzania in enhancing its relations with the Diaspora to tie its financial, social and human capital to the national development. More specifically, the project will offer advisory services to an Inter-ministerial Task Force, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This Task Force is intended to develop a National Policy on Diaspora and enhance the capacity of the Department for Diaspora Matters. The expected results of the project, to be achieved in close coordination with the Inter-ministerial Task Force, include: 1) enhanced institutional knowledge of effective policies and actions to strengthen participation of the Tanzanian Diaspora in national development among the staff of the Department for Diaspora Matters, 2) better engaged and involved Tanzanian Diaspora in the national development process and 3) a final draft of the National Diaspora Policy that reflects the needs and interests of the Tanzanians living abroad.
