As a follow-up to the MIDSA Workshop on Migration and Development, this project aims to assist two selected countries, Angola and Zambia, in developing specific strategies for the implementation of the recommendations made during the workshop, thereby assisting them in tackling the issue of skills migration and improving their capacity to harness the migration potential for their development. With the help of a consultant, as well as IOM Field Offices in Lusaka and Luanda, this project will undertake a thorough assessment of the current situation, assist the two target countries in coming up with a concrete plan of action, and hence enhance the capacity of the governments. In each country, a small workshop will be organized at the end of the project to disseminate the findings of the assessment and to discuss further action and next steps with all stakeholders. It will also provide the possibility to implement some initial activities, which are to be identified in the course of the project.
