General Guidelines for the formulation of a National Migration Policy - Paraguay

The project’s expected result were the formulation of general guidelines for a National Migration Policy for Paraguay, and identification of appropriate follow-up actions. This was achieved through undertaking studies on the population situation and migration trends as well as reports on sector issues. In addition, debates at an inter-institutional level were to be organized with the participation of the public sector and civil society.

The document focuses its attention on two fundamental questions: the irregular migration of Brazilians in border areas and the immigration of Paraguayans into Argentina. Likewise, it is aimed to institutionally strengthen the government departments in the area of migration.
