Counter Trafficking Projects

Completed
This project aims to strengthen national and local capacity to combat human trafficking through effective criminal justice responses in Côte d’Ivoire.
IOM will provide technical assistance to the government of Côte d’Ivoire and key non governmental stakeholders to support the implementation of the joint ECOWAS/ECCAS plan to combat trafficking in persons signed in 2006, in Abuja. This will involve an assessment of the trafficking situation in Côte d’Ivoire to outline key trends. The assessment will include recommendations designed to feed into the development of a legislative framework that will support the investigation and prosecution of trafficking offences.
