The objective of this project is to contribute to the economic development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines through the support and engagement of its diaspora. The project will be implemented in close collaboration with the Government of St. Vincent Regional Integration and Diaspora Unit (RIDU). Connecting with and identifying capacities and skills within the St. Vincent’s diaspora are pillars of this initiative.
Project outputs that will contribute towards this objective include the registration of the Vincentian diaspora in North America and the Caribbean, the documentation of skills and resources as well as diaspora return interest and plans.
Through program presentations and mobilization workshops, the diaspora will be further encouraged to recommend how to promote their involvement and will be included in discussions on development initiatives. The overseas private sector will also be included in these workshops. All activities will contribute towards important preliminary stages of diaspora engagement that will be further explored in a separate project.
