The aim of this project is to carry out a Quantitative Survey of 200 randomly selected Colombians in the London metropolitan area to gather information on migrants’ basic sociodemographics, labour and migration histories and on their on-going economic, sociocultural, and political relations with their homeland.

This survey will form part of a larger, on-going research inquiry, that seeks to understand the internal dynamics, social determinants, and developmental effects of transnational migration among Colombian and Dominican migrants in four European countries.

The project will result in determining the developmental effects of the transnational relations that migrants maintain with their country of origin, migrants' possibilities to transfer (economic and non-economic) resources and their respectively positive or negative effects on local development. It will strengthen the dialogue between international organizations, (non)governmental organizations, private and academic sector and define politics towards migration and development.
