Pilot Project: Technical Assistance to Enhance Migration Management in Congo

Following the approval of the project ‘Pilot Project: Technical Assistance to Enhance Migration Management in Congo’, activities have commenced and are currently on track to be completed as scheduled in October 2008.

In order to complement the assessment and related activities of the project, the Government of Congo has requested an additional USD16,515 from the 2008 1035 Facility budget. This funding will go toward ensuring the delivery of a week-long training course covering the main topics of the Essentials of Migration Management and toward purchasing and installing basic PIRS equipment at the two key points of entry: the Maya Maya airport and The Beach river crossing point.
