The objective of the proposed project is to contribute to efforts to reduce irregular migration of at-risk youth in Tangier and Tétouan by highlighting the risks of irregular migration and smuggling of migrants across the Mediterranean Sea. It is part of a larger program funded by USAID which aims to facilitate the socio-economic reintegration of marginalized youth.
The project will target youth (aged 12-25) who are identified as being likely candidates for clandestine irregular migration and will serve to complement activities that are currently planned and under implementation through the USAID-funded program. Activities will include an awareness raising campaign, youth sensitization campaigns and training and sensitization of local associations on the risks of irregular migration and how to address at-risk youth on the issue.
