Return Assist to Migrants and Government
National
Completed
The project aims to build the capacities of the government and civil societies in assisting the return of migrants in a situation of high vulnerability due to accidents, sickness or any kind of serious disabilities, as well as repatriating the mortal remains of migrants who died during their attempt at reaching the United States. This support will provide migrants the transportation and travelling means to return to their communities and humanitarian assistance for their social reinsertion . These actions will be carried out in coordination with the authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Guatemala and its consulates and embassies, as well as civil society organizations, taking advantage of the experience, local installed capacity and current efforts of humanitarian assistance provided to the target population by its Vice Ministry of Human Rights and Care for Migrants.
This program will finance its activities by creating a fund. The program will have an initial duration of 12 months and it will be extended according to the resources that the different actors will be able to generate and/or collect during the first year of implementation.
