Honduras
Repatriation Assistance
National
Completed
The program aimed to give assistance to Honduran migrants who found themselves in highly vulnerable situations, especially those who had been injured in accidents, were ill or disabled as a consequence of their migration attempt;in their transit to the north. Specifically, it provided each migrant with means of transportation and logistics in order to get them to their place of origin. In case of death, the program assisted with the exhumation of the corpse and its repatriation. These actions were implemented in coordination with governmental authorities, NGOs and other members of the civil society of Honduras, Mexico and Guatemala, taking advantage of their capacity and ongoing humanitarian assistance to this target population.
