Return Assist to Migrants and Government

Completed
This project aimed to assist migrants who are highly vulnerable due to accidents or diseases. Other migrants who failed in their intent to reach the USA were also assisted under the auspices of this project. The assistance mainly consisted of transportation of the migrants back to their community of origin in El Salvador. The activities were carried out in collaboration with the authorities and civil society representatives in El Salvador, Mexico and Guatemala and used experience and resources available locally.
The activities under this program were financed by a special fund which during the first stage was covered by the contribution from IOM and subsequently by the Government of El Salvador, Civil Society Organisations, Private Sector and other International Organisations.
