The main objective of this project is to strengthen the capacities of the Government of the Republic of Congo to mobilize the Congolese diaspora for the development of the country. Through the implementation of the MIDA programme, the project aims to address the lack of qualified human resources in two priority sectors in Congo Brazzaville: the health and higher education sectors.
To reach this objective, the project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase consists in building the capacities of the “Diaspora Mobilization Unit” hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. This will take the form of staff training on migration and development issues as well as support for the development of a strategic action plan on diaspora mobilization.
During the second phase of the project, expert missions of qualified Congolese diaspora members residing in France will be facilitated to contribute to the development of the health and higher education sectors in Congo Brazzaville. This phase aims to pave the way for the development of a long-term MIDA programme that can be extended to other sectors or/and locations in the country.
