Counter Trafficking Projects

Completed
The Government of Tanzania, in accordance with international obligations of the United Nations Protocol on Trafficking in Human Beings (2000), enacted an Anti-Trafficking law in 2009. This project, developed upon the request of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare/ Department of Social Welfare (DSW), focuses on facilitating the implementation of the new anti-trafficking legislation. This will involve increasing internal and external coordination within the DSW including with NGOs, in order to ensure a reliable and safe network for referral and attention to victims of human trafficking.
The project will support the Tanzanian civil society to deliver direct assistance to victims of trafficking.
