Mali, as with some other countries, is deeply affected by the influence of climatic changes. These climatic changes can lead to population movements within and from sub-Saharan Africa. This project aims to integrate environmental migration into local and national strategies for vulnerability reduction and reinforcement of community adjustment capacity. The project includes the following activities; i) heightening the awareness of decision makers and the general public to better understand the relationship between vulnerability, migration and environment; ii) reinforcing the capacities of relevant institutions to undertake vulnerability analysis and to promote community-based adaptation; iii) setting-up pilot initiatives to ensure community adjustment to climatic change.
