Support Turkey’s Efforts in Migration Management: A Platform for Academics, Governmental Officials and Civil Society Representatives

The project will establish a network of academics, policy makers and NGOs who are actively involved in migration related research and elaboration in Turkey. Furthermore, the network will prepare the basis for development of a shared work platform aimed to enhance the national capacity to cover different facets of migration such as irregular migration including trafficking in human beings, migrant smuggling, labour migration, emigration, remittances and provide theoretical instruments to assess and interpret the different dimensions of migration as apply to Turkey. The dialogue and cooperation among the key stakeholders will be promoted through a national meeting which will trigger synergy among the participating institutions. The goal is to develop the national capacity of Turkey so as to pool together and maximize existing resources within the academia, governmental institutions and civil society in order to elaborate a comprehensive and multi dimensional approaches to face the current and future challenges that migration poses.
