This project aims to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Uruguay in relation to: migration and information, return migration and prevention of trafficking in persons. The project will focus on the following components: i) technical support for the preliminary activities of the National Census on Population that will take place in 2010: ii) technical support to the Technical Secretariat on Migration, Internal Mobility and Spatial Population Distribution; iii) support for governmental initiatives (national and departmental) to facilitate return and reintegration processes; iv) building the government’s capacity to deal with trafficking in persons for sexual exploitation, including training activities for the responsible use of Internet, in the framework of the “Plan Ceibal” (“One laptop per child”). .
