This migration training project is part of the strategy to support the respect for migrants’ human rights and the fight against the trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants, through the elaboration and offering of specialized courses on these subjects to future consuls, labour supervisors, policemen and migration officials.
This training course has been designed to take place in Lima and oriented to government officials from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
The training course is comprised of three modules: one focused on the legal framework of human rights and the most important international legal instruments; a second module tackles the trafficking of persons and smuggling of migrants; and the third module deals with the labour laws in every country of the region, the protection of migrant workers as well as migrants issues from a common perspective shared by every country in the region.
